I'm the last one to pass judgment on another's artwork. Self-expression seems more important than skill, knowledge, even exploration. I know I too sometimes fall into the trap of making art pretty, but devoid of any sort of emotion or challenge. Just another pretty picture. Do you remember the likes of Jackson Pollock back in the 60's? I do. Was that art then? Is "pour art" art now? Does art have to be pretty? Do you have to know how to draw before you paint?

I have far more questions than answers.

I remain ambivalent about digital art. Is it art? They say yes, I say I don't know.

What about art that is so realistic that it looks like a photo? Me, I admire the discipline. But, for the life of me have never been able to understand, if you want something to look like a photo, why not just use a camera?
