I am unapologetically, unabashedly, an old school free hand artist. I have nothing against tools like tracing paper and projectors to make life easier. I also don't have anything specific against digital art. I realize creating digitally also takes skill and imagination. Neither digital nor free hand created art is better.

I'm the last one to pass judgment on another's artwork. Self-expression seems more important than skill, knowledge, even exploration. I know I too sometimes fall into the trap of making art pretty, but devoid of any sort of emotion or challenge. Just another pretty picture. Do you remember the likes of Jackson Pollock back in the 60's? I do. Was that art then? Is "pour art" art now? Does art have to be pretty? Do you have to know how to draw before you paint?
